First let me start by stating that I am not a Chef. I refer to myself as a “Pantry Cook.” I have a fully stocked, functional pantry out of which I can create delicious and healthy meals relatively quickly on any given night (even for guests). And my hope is that with the information on this site, you can too!
I absolutely love to cook, it’s definitely my favorite interest which granted does help at mealtime but I think it’s more than that. Not only does food sustain us in the literal sense but it also brings us together as a family and with our friends. Cooking for people makes me feel so good, once people start enjoying the food good conversation and laughter are sure to follow. I think cooking is so often looked at as a chore. I think if you can look at it as a creative outlet and an act of love that it can really motivate you to DISH IT UP at your home.
I am an Occupational Therapist and a Personal Trainer so nutrition and healthy eating have been a part of my practice and my personal life for many years. I am absolutely passionate about eating fresh whole foods; unprocessed and free of preservatives. I think the idea of cooking with fresh produce is often a daunting one especially in these days of having so much to do in so little time. I hope this site as well as the video demonstrations can be helpful to you in planning nutritious meals for your family not only on a budget but also on the fly.
