About Me

First let me start by stating that I am not a Chef.  I refer to myself as a “Pantry Cook.”  I have a fully stocked, functional pantry out of which I can create delicious and healthy meals relatively quickly on any given night (even for guests).  And my hope is that with the information on this site, you can too!

me.summer.2014.1I absolutely love to cook, it’s definitely my favorite interest which granted does help at mealtime but I think it’s more than that.  Not only does food sustain us in the literal sense but it also brings us together as a family and with our friends.  Cooking for people makes me feel so good, once people start enjoying the food good conversation and laughter are sure to follow.  I think cooking is so often looked at as a chore.  I think if you can look at it as a creative outlet and an act of love that it can really motivate you to DISH IT UP at your home.

I am an Occupational Therapist and a Personal Trainer so nutrition and healthy eating have been a part of my practice and my personal life for many years.  I am absolutely passionate about eating fresh whole foods; unprocessed and free of preservatives.  I think the idea of cooking with fresh produce is often a daunting one especially in these days of having so much to do in so little time.  I hope this site as well as the video demonstrations can be helpful to you in planning nutritious meals for your family not only on a budget but also on the fly.

I look forward to your comments and hope you enjoy viewing my blog as much as I enjoy creating it.  It is truly a labor of love.
