Turkey burgers are one of my super quick go to meals for an easy weeknight dinner. This recipe is an example of a couple of add in ingredients that you can use to make your own turkey meatloaf burgers.
1 pound of ground turkey
1 4oz jar of pimentos with the liquid
6 oz of crumbled feta cheese
¾ Tbsp of Italian seasoning blend
Mix the first 4 ingredients together in a medium bowl. Drizzle the mixture with some olive oil for added moisture. Form into 4 patties and place into a casserole dish. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Baking these covered in the oven gives them more of a meatloaf consistency; very soft and moist. There will be some liquid in the bottom of the pan after they’re cooked.
You could absolutely put these onto a grill pan or a nonstick skillet and make them into burgers which will have a harder exterior. I usually bake them as I can stick them into the oven and forget about them for 30 minutes as opposed to standing there with them as they cook.
For Mexican turkey meatloaf/burgers:
1 small can of green chilies with the liquid
Shredded Monterey jack or Mexican blend cheese
¾ Tbsp Mexican spice blend or all natural taco seasoning
For Mediterranean turkey meatloaf/burgers:
½ cup chopped red onion
8 oz or a generous handful of kalamata or green olives roughly chopped
¾ Tbsp of greek seasoning
2 Tbsp (more or less) of water for moisture
